Graffiti Problem Wiped Out
13/11/2009
Horizon Signs has developed a new design of bus stop post aimed at solving the serious problems of graffiti and vandalism faced by many councils throughout the country.
Graffiti is notoriously difficult and expensive to remove so in order to combat this, we designed a PVC castellated sleeve which was simply slipped over an existing post and discourages the graffitist as anything sprayed on it does not show up.
This proved to be a good solution for the councils and encouraged us to develop an aluminium version, as well as to provide a secure fastening for the timetable case, which eliminates the potential for vandalism of the fixings.
Our unique design is also cost effective as it can be retro-fitted over an existing post, meaning that it does not need to be taken out of the ground, therefore, saving on labour costs.
The units are currently on trial in Scotland and the Leeds area, with more councils expressing an interest in the bus stops as they look to reduce budgets and solve the problems of vandalism and graffiti.
The success of our bus stop posts will result in an improvement in the overall visual environment and amenity of the areas they are in and it is also a great, commercially viable solution for councils.
